Historic Edinburg Texas

Historic Edinburg Texas – come follow the moon with Doug, Cathy and Maggie Mae as we explore what makes Edinburg a great town and a vital piece in the history of TX. We’ll visit the Vistor Center, which is in a restored 1927 Southern Pacific Railroad Depot with lots of history on the depot as well as the town of Edinburg. Next up, the Tejano Walk of Fame, which pays tribute to the Tejano music and culture of the area. We’ll tour the Museum of South Texas History, from the days of the Mammoth and Sabre Tooth Tiger roaming the area, to the more recent history of the area and the 1911 Jail Building which houses part of the museum. Finally, we’ll wind up at La Sal del Rey, a natural salt lake, which had a huge impact on this area and the value it held to the Spanish and Mexican governments through the years.
